! adjusting to starsand
When characters arrive in Starsand, they will find that the majority of their powers are still in tact. However, some of them may be scaled down or slightly adjusted in order to fit the physics of their new world. The biggest reason for this is that characters who were god-level are no longer at that level: Even a canon kami will start at the beginning for their journey when they first arrive in Starsand. This world also has IC limits in place, which characters will not be able to work around until they learn more about the setting.
On an ooc level, these restrictions exist to 'even the playing field' and keep certain characters from being overpowered right out of the gate.
At all times, Kami are the highest level of power in this world. Other powerful beings will find themselves nerfed to be below the level of Kami. When it doubt, fights will end in favor of the canon Kami.
Destructive powers cannot level the city, concepts like spacetime cannot be altered, and mind-altering abilities simply do not work as intended. Abilities that involve the summoning of machinery or weapons will find that these summons are temporary and may be smaller than they're used to.
In order to regain their full powerset, characters will have to participate in the plot. This includes things like aligning with the appropriate kami or trying to become kami themselves.

Equipment
Characters who come with equipment will be able to arrive with what they can carry on their person. This means items that they could wear on their backs or carry in their hands. A truck they were driving or mech they were piloting would not come along. Items are also watered down, with many of their magical properties nerfed by the setting. Please be mindful of the existing limits.
Larger items can be regained or recreated in game. Please contact a mod before assuming any item can exist. Please contact the mods before assuming a magical item can exist.

Space/Time Related Powers
For the most part, powers related to time and space will remain in tact, but with limitations. The timeline of Starsand cannot be explored more than 1 minute into the future, for example, and time cannot be rewound except by the Spacetime kami or by characters who can consume Starling. Characters with time powers may be able to sense that the 'time' does not go beyond early February. There is a 'block' on both time and space, which prevents them from being able to leave the confines of Starsand.
Time and Space in Starsand are linked. Characters with time powers (who did not already have this ability,) can put themselves on an alternative plane of existence where the world passes by them. They cannot be interacted with or interact when in this state.
Characters with space-related abilities will find that their 'hammerspace' is completely emptied and shrunk down. They cannot reach into other dimensions due to the timespace block. They can drop to a dimension where time stops, but they cannot interact with anything at this plane.

Kami / Gods
If your character is a kami or god in their canon storyline, then they can keep that status here. However, their powers will be watered down significantly upon initial arrival. In order to regain their power, they will have to play into the same 'faith' system as the other characters. This will mean establishing a shrine and building their presence from scratch.
Please check with a mod before deciding on their kami title. Conflicting titles will resolve in favor of the Starsand NPC and cannot be challenged.

Power Nullification
Nullification abilities will still apply to spirit magic. However, they cannot be used to nullify soul magic (ex.: destroy spirits) or law level magic (ex.: challenge a kami.)
Spirits will instinctively avoid people with nullification magic, until given a reason to trust them. They might find it harder to have wishes granted at the beginning of their stay in Starsand. It is also harder for them to produce Starling.

Revival & Spirit Magic
Magic that would revive the dead does not work in Starsand. This includes reviving dead spirits. Bodies and souls work differently here and would not be affected by outside magic.
Characters who had a sixth sense for the dead will be able to see and hear spirits. Spirits do not typically speak with words, but convey emotions psychically. They are seen as glowing orbs, which change color and intensity depending on their emotions.

Holy Magic
'Holy Magic' does not apply to spirits or kami in the same way as it would to a canon god or deity. Characters who needed a holy deity in order to gain power may adjust to using a kami instead or instead form contracts with spirits.
